California schools are ranked each year according to the Academic Performance Index. Scores range from 200 to 1,000, with a score of 800 marking an excellent school. The API system also ranks schools on a more detailed 1 to 10 scale that compares one schools scores to every other API score across the state.
Our neighborhood elementary school, Crocker Highlands Elementary, received a score of 869 and a rank of 9 in the recently reported results for 2004. This is an improvement of 8 points over 2003 and the sixth year in a row of improvement. The commitment of terrific teachers and staff, the principal and parents helped Crocker achieve this fine result.

Welcome to Crocker Highlands Elementary School! There are three things that make Crocker Highlands such a special place. First, we have great kids! Second, we have an outstanding principal and teachers dedicated to bringing out the best in our children. Third, we have incredible involvement and support from our parents.
Crocker has a well rounded curriculum focusing on meeting the needs of a diverse population. The school currently enrolls approximately 350 children in kindergarten through fifth grade, with three classes each for kindergarten through 3rd grade, two classes each for 4th and 5th grades, and one special education class. In addition to regular classroom activities, our students also participate in art, computer, p.e., and vocal music classes.
If you would like to be introduced to a Crocker mom, dad or neighbor, please contact Debbi and she will be happy to connect you.
